Animech got asked by a furniture company to show how one of their products would look in WebGL.
I modeled the sofa, using the CAD file we got from the customer as a reference. Since the CAD-file only represented the basic shapes of the seats and pillows, I had to “fluff” them up. I created the low poly pillows in Max, and sculpted the high polys in Sculptris. After that, I baked the high poly models to normal maps using xNormal. The next step was to assemble the sofa with the newly fluffed pillows, and bake out lightmaps. Finally in WebGL, I set up the materials and lighting for the sofa.
